Yes, the City of Davison lists a $75 siding permit, while Davison Township's building page says siding on small residential buildings and replacing same-size windows and doors need no permit, subject to distance from property lines. The township does require a permit to put new shingles on a roof even with no structural work, and its March 2022 fee schedule lists $75 for a new roof permit with one inspection included.

The City of Davison, Davison Township, and Richfield Township each have their own building department, and all three use a Davison mailing address. Permit amounts differ between the city and the township, so the department for your address sets the fee. The city includes the first two inspections in its permit fee and charges $50 for each additional one.

Davison Township's zoning ordinance requires a deck that goes with a house to stay at least 25 feet from the rear lot line and allows it only in the rear yard and the side yard that is not required.
